TWO TIME MAKONGENI WARD REPRESENTATIVE IMWATOK CLEARED TO VIE BY POLL AGENCY

Nairobi, Kenya 1st June 2022

Two time member of County Assembly for Makongeni ward Hon Peter Imwatok was today cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC to vie for the position of Ward Representative for Makongeni ward based in Makadara Nairobi.

Speaking at the Jericho Social hall in Jericho Estate Nairobi where he presented his documents to the Elections agency, Mr Imwatok who is also doubles up as Minority Whip in the Nairobi County Assembly said He will be vying for the third time under the banner of the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party and his key priority once re-elected will be to increase the supply of water in the ward through drilling of more boreholes, expanding access to education and improving sporting talent among the youth resident in Makongeni Ward.

Asked why he did not wish to vie for a higher seat as common practice among various career politicians (Member of Parliament for Makadara Constituency) Mr Imwatok said; ” I have consulted with the top party brass and got it’s blessing to vie for the position.

As member of the Nairobi County Hon Imwatok credits himself for being instrumental in the enactment of various county legislations which made Nairobi Metropolitan services a reality in addition to expediting the process impeaching former governor Mike Sonko who was hounded out for being corrupt and who seen as an impediment in the creation of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services – a development agency ran by Kenya Defense forces (Military arm of government) that has accelerated development projects in the city, The legislator also credits himself with sponsoring various other legislations at the Assembly.
