Nurses at Mathare Teaching and Referral Hospital about a fortnight ago started an excercise regime aimed at boasting their morale during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic. As such the Nurses will be participating in a Zhumba Exercises every week

The weekly event will be organized by Nursing Council of Kenya and The Ministry of Health who also hope to expand the programme to Nurses in various hospitals accross the country who are in the frontline battling the Covid 19 pandemic.

Speaking at the event Nursing Council President Prof. Eunice Ndirangu Said; Zhumba sessions aim to raise awareness in the central role of the mental well-being of our nurses and midwives. Zhumba just like other forms of exercise provides an avenue to promote the psychological wellbeing, relieve stress and increase the individuals capacity to cope during difficult times.
