ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY UNVEILS DRAFT NATIONAL CHEMICALS POLICY

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry early this morning unveiled a policy aimed at regulating chemicals within the country.
Highlighting the importance of chemicals in sustaining everyday life and the risks presented in handling and management and storage of chemicals as happened in the Beirut explosion which killed over 200 civilians and further injuring more that 5000 people the Kenya National Chemical Policy 2020 will be instrumental in the management of chemicals and safegaurding the lives of Kenyans fron harmful effects of chemicals.

The launch of the Draft Policy comes in the heels of a disturbing report by the United Nations Development Programme dubbed The Age of the Anthropocene which highlights the negative impact of human activity on the environment.
