COHESION COMMISSION LAUNCHES HATE LEXICON

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission NCIC early today at the commission offices in Upper Hill Nairobi launched the hate speech lexicon – a compendium of hate words mostly used by politicians in the run up to the general elections to be held in August 2022

Some of the words include Fumigation, Uncircumcised, Eliminate. Some of the words used in Kiswahili include: Kafiri to mean without faith, Madoadoa which is used to refer to people who are non-locals, Mende to mean cockroach. Other words in Swahili used informal include Kama Noma Ni Noma to mean if it bad let it get worse.
