CABINET SECRETARY PROF KINDIKI PRIORITY AREAS

In his second Ministerial Address since taking office as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration a little over 6 months ago Prof Kithure Kindiki at the Harambee House steps outlined a number of priority areas the Ministry will keep it’s focus in effort to put Kenya in the league of safe countries. Some of these areas include:
The fight against terror in its different forms hence the Ministry He said will develop strategies and employ equipment geared toward detecting and preventing Terror.
The Ministry also pledged to end all forms of banditry in Northern Frontier Counties and this the Ministry said it will partner with the Kenya Defence Forces Under Article 241 of the KDF Act Sec 31 and Sec 34.
Prof Kindiki also promised to deal with individuals dealing in the trade, Manufacture, Use and distribution of illegal drugs.
Finally the Cabinet Secretary mentioned violence caused by individuals using provisions in the constitution e.g picketing and using that to cause instability. This trend the CS noted is not only an Urban affair but is a situation which has morphed into rural areas of Kenya. While arguing that some grievances may indeed be genuine he said his Ministry will not allow attacks by the public on protected institutions and areas.
